About

For nearly 30 years, Jolie Montgomery Ikard has helped individuals and families throughout Springfield and Southwest Missouri navigate some of life’s most difficult legal challenges. Her practice focuses on family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, guardianship, adoption, orders of protection, and other domestic relations matters, while also representing clients in criminal law, quiet title actions, and select probate matters.

What makes Jolie’s approach unique is her combination of legal experience and a lifelong commitment to helping families. Before becoming an attorney, she worked in public service and family advocacy, earning a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) and becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.). She also served in leadership roles within child protective services, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges families face both inside and outside the courtroom.

Today, that experience allows Jolie to provide more than legal representation. She offers compassionate guidance, practical solutions, and clear communication to help clients move forward with confidence during some of life’s most personal and emotional transitions.

We are here to help.

Family law often comes with questions about what happens next. • Can grandparents seek visitation in Missouri?

Grandparent visitation rights depend on the family's circumstances and Missouri law. When a grandparent is being denied contact with a grandchild, we help determine what legal options may be available and guide clients through the process.

  • When might guardianship be necessary?
Guardianship may become necessary when a child or vulnerable adult needs another person to have legal authority to provide care or make certain decisions. We help families understand the guardianship process and the legal responsibilities involved.
  • What should I do if I need an order of protection?
Orders of protection can involve urgent and highly personal circumstances. If you or a family member is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first. We represent clients who need help seeking or responding to ex parte orders and orders of protection and provide guidance throughout the legal process.
  • Can a child custody or child support order be changed?
Circumstances can change after a family court order is entered. Changes involving income, employment, relocation, parenting schedules, or a child's needs may raise questions about modifying an existing custody or child support order. We help clients understand their options when an existing order no longer fits their family's circumstances.
  • How long does a divorce take in Missouri?
The timeline for a divorce varies from case to case. Disputes involving property, child custody, child support, maintenance, or other issues can affect how long the process takes. We help clients understand what to expect and the issues that need to be resolved as their case moves forward.
  • How is child custody determined in Missouri?
Child custody decisions depend on the circumstances of each family and the needs of the child. Parenting arrangements may address where a child lives, how parenting time is divided, and how important decisions are made. We help parents understand the custody process and work toward arrangements that protect their relationship with their children.
